Lasik Eye Surgery Review By Amber

Ok so here’s a different kind of review

I’d say this could still fit in the beauty spectrum of things depending on how you feel about your glasses or not.

Or Health services or even Fashion.

Regardless

8 Years ago I Received Laser eye surgery for my vision I opted to go with Zyoptic surgery as this leaves more room for touch ups then regular lasik should you need them later, which today  I went in for a right eye enhancement.

8 years later I still see 20/20 with both eyes but one eye is not 20/20 on its own so back I went for a free touch up ($60 in drops total fee)

This surgery then cost me a total of $3500.00

This included  laser surgery and a life time vision coverage plan.

when I started this procedure I was a negative -5.50 . (which for those of you that don’t know means I couldn’t read my alarm clock.

This procedure take around 3-4 hours but the actual surgery time is about 10-20 mins.

most of this is waiting , tests, drops etc.

here is the package I left with this time around IMG_3358

DROPS , DROPS AND MORE DROPS

for the first day im not gonna lie the drops are so often there not point to list them

the 4 drop bottles that are out of the boxes are what you will be living on day one

after that day 2-4 drop of the same types but about 4 times a day

then day 5-7 there are 2 kinds of drops 3 times a day for 1 type and once for the other.

You are also giving some numbing drop is you need to but they advise to try not to use them

and 2 boxes of samples .. Score!

I managed to get a 2 hour nap between my medicated drops and my eyes felt much better after.

Its not painful you don’t feel anything. I’d say the only thing is uncomfortable eyes after like scratchy for a few hours sleeping for a nap is highly recommended. I’ve done this now twice and both times I did this with no issues.

The sunglasses are left on inside and outside for 24 hours even sleeping.

also other things  you can not  do for 24 hours are :

  • shower (you can bath) don’t get water in your eyes
  • limit to light activities
  • driving short distances only
  • no eye make up

after 3 days you can resume:

  • play with children ( well be careful that is)
  • horseback riding
  • sauna or steam room
  • jogging , rollerblading , golf, boating, sking
  • light exercise like the treadmill

AFTER 7 days you can resume things like:

  • eye make up (man this has got to be the worse 7 day wait ever)
  • dying hair and eyebrows

You can start doing the following WITH eye protection

  • tanning
  • swimming, water slides, scuba diving, snorkelling, sailing
  • basketball, football, soccer, baseball
  • motorcycling, snowmobiling, hockey, skiing, snowboarding
  • water skiing , wind surfing , kayaking surfing
  • raquet sports

After 1 month you can resume

  • fake lashes (killing me again here)
  • waxing eyebrows
  • botox

and now without eye protection you can do the following

  • swimming, water slides, scuba diving, snorkelling, sailing
  • basketball, football, soccer, baseball
  • skiing and snowmobiling

3 Months later you can do the following without eye protection:

  • Water skiing
  • wind surfing
  • kayaking
  • surfing

ok and here’s me after and for the next 7 days

You MUST wear your glasses out of the house

in my case I will be wearing them at home as well most of the day as I work on a computer 10 hours a day so I feel this is likely a good idea. (why not).

  1. Can you wear your own sunglasses?
I really hate most sunglasses that places have you wear (like dentist, medical) and no one has refused letting me use my own yet.

But then my sunglasses are polarized with optician lenses…

    • no you are suppose to wear these because they are UAV , UAB. maybe if it had both sun protectors on the glasses?
