I can hardly believe how quickly September flew by, yikes, it will be Christmas before  I know it!

Julep Bare Face Cleansing Oil – This stuff is amazing! At first the thought of cleansing your skin with oil is a bit bizarre, but once you rub this delightful oil into your skin it is magic. It is so softening, and smoothing and soothing…it even removes eye makeup. Truly delightful. It rinses away clean, no residue and certainly no film or oil slick left behind. I’ve been using this for about 3 weeks now and have barely made a dent in the bottle.  The cleansing oil sells for $28.00 on the Julep site which is pricey, but if you take into account how little you use and how wonderful it feels, it’s well worth the price. It’s a definite Fab Find!

Another amazing cleanser this month is the Olive & Enzyme Cleanser from SKINN/Dimitri James. This gem is available on The Shopping Channel. It is a creamy cleanser that smells soooo good….there are no words to describe it; perhaps vanilla-banana-custard-cream-pie?!?! It smells delicious.  It is described as a ‘Rich balm make-up remover & deep cleansing mask for the PM’. It removes all make-up (including eye make-up) effortlessly. It leaves my skin feeling so soft and smooth and I don’t need to follow with moisturizer afterwards.  The smaller tube is available for $48.00 (my version was part of a larger special kit) which is pretty pricey and I would be hard pressed to buy it at that price. But it is sooooo good and a little goes a long way, that by the time I’m done this bottle, I may just be convinced to order another ( or at least wait until it’s part of a larger kit at a great discount!)  This is another Fab Find!

I got my hair cut recently and it’s shorter and ‘choppier’,  I had no idea how to get the bits to look the way they were supposed to look. My stylist (who thankfully is also my niece) recommended the Osis+ Dust It Texture Mattifying Powder from Schwartzkopf.  After a few hits and misses in application I finally found the right amount of product with the right distribution method and it’s really nice. It leaves the hair soft, yet holds in place and I’m able to get lots of piecey volume. There was a bit of a learning curve but the end result is nicer than if I use gel/mousse or styling cream and since it’s a ‘dry’ product the finished look is pretty much instant.  Price point is good (you’ll have to check your local shops) and a little goes a long way. I’m calling this one a Fab Find!

I have a soft spot in my heart for fragrances from Jo Malone, so when a new one was released earlier this month I had to whiff it!  The website describes the scent as “The essence of charm. Peonies in voluptuous bloom, exquisitely fragile. Flirtatious with the juicy bite of red apple and the opulence of jasmine, rose and gillyflower. Mingling with the sensuality of soft, blush suede. Luxurious and seductive.”  It is truly beautiful. I can not describe it any better than the website did.  I have gotten so many compliments on this scent. It is soft enough for day time at the office, yet feminine and sexy for evening.  It is another hit for me from Jo Malone. The Blackberry & Bay from a while back is another scent staple as is the Blue Agave & Cacao and  the Vanilla & Anise…..and the Wild Bluebell….good grief I have a lot of favourites.  If you’re looking for a new fragrance for fall you need to find a Jo Malone counter and try this one. This is a two-thumbs up Fab Find!

Heading into fall and winter my hands and cuticles get very dry and even though I use cuticle oil regularly (my favourite is listed in last months Fab  Finds/Unfortunate Fails) I need a good hand lotion as well.  I found a really nice one in the London No 18 Apothecary Hand & Nail Cream, mine is Citrus Ginger. I found this reasonably priced (under $5!) gem in London Drugs. It is a 20% shea butter formula that is rich and thick and leaves your hands soft for hours. It’s absolutely not greasy and doesn’t feel chalky, as some shea formulas can.  The Citrus Ginger scent is really nice, but if not your cup of tea, several other fragrances are available. This lotion is great for guys too and in this particular scent it’s not too frilly. This is a Fab Find! as well.

Lots of successes this month! I love trying new things, and this month all of my new tries were Frantastic!  Hopefully I’ve introduced you to some new items. As always I’m looking forward to the coming month and all the products that it will bring.

Until next time 🙂
