First Impression: Beach Tonic Dry Body Oil by Julep

My name is Fran and I’m addicted to nail polish. Being addicted to polish it made sense to subscribe to Julep.  They have exclusive colours and ship monthly sets based upon your profile etc. You can also order from the menu so to speak each month at a discount if you’re a Julep Maven (member). I’m not going to get too in-depth into the Julep service or their polish products this time, but let’s just say I have a fairly large collection from them already. The last few months they have been getting more and more into beauty products as opposed to just polish.  This wandering from the polish is ok for me because their non-polish products have been great thus far. The Beach Tonic Dry Body Oil from last month is no exception.

Julep Beach Tonic Dry Body Oil

The instructions are simple: after showering spray on damp skin and massage in.   You wouldn’t think this light mist would be moisturizing, but it is. It absorbs quickly (no oil slick), makes your skin soft and smells amazing! It isn’t meant for the face but it is misty magic for the body.  Great on arms, shoulders, just-shaven legs etc.  It leaves a subtle ‘glow’ (no colour,  just sheen) on the skin, which is flattering.  Throughout the day I’ll find myself catching subtle whiffs of it.

It isn’t a heavy duty moisturizer, so if you need extra help at the elbows (or wherever) by all means use a cream or lotion, but for all over quick moisture and fragrance this is a winner.  My one dislike is that the pump top gets stuck every couple of sprays so it needs a flick to reset it. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things but slightly annoying nonetheless.

At $23  USD  it’s a little pricey (I think) but it does seem to last forever. I’ve been using it since it I got it in my July Julep box and I’ve barely touched the surface (so to speak). This product seems to either be loved or hated, based upon the reviews on the Julep site, but I  like it and it works well for me.

I think this product is: Frantastic for what it is. Don’t expect miracles on uber-dry skin and be prepared to unstick the pump once in a while.

Until next time 🙂
