January Glossybox 2013

Well I got my Glossybox yesterday, and have thought about writing this blog for a while. I  kept thinking about how great Glossybox has been and then I looked at this box and felt blah. The last two boxes I have received from Glossybox has been, to put it frank, lack lustre to say the least. It seems since they raised their prices the quality has gone downhill. For the amount of money I spent on this box I could have drove to my local drugstore, picked everything up and then bought myself the newest issue of People. I hate being a negative Nelly but I was hoping for a great box this time and just felt disappointed. Nonetheless here is what I got.

TooFaced: Lip injection Extreme:

I guess I should start with the TooFaced lip product. I have never heard of this before, but I am excited to see how this works. I find plumping lippy products a little strange, but nothing ventured nothing gained. One thing I do like is that it is clear with a little bit of opalescent quality and it smells like candy! One thing I don’t like is it is super duper tiny, like smaller than my pinky tiny!!

Full size=$28 /Sample=$3

BeautySoClean Cosmetic Sanitizer Wipes

Super excited to try these wipes, heard so much about them, and they will be perfect for travelling 🙂

Full size=$12.50 /Sample=$3.12

Nivea Essential Lip Care

I wasn’t too thrilled about getting another chap stick in a beauty box. I have a ton of these Nivea chap sticks, but I am  a baby lips girl at heart, so I will probably pass this on.

Value=$2.00

Burt’s Bees Milk & Honey Body Lotion

I <3 Burt’s Bees, but honestly I was disappointed in the tiny size of this sample. In the store a full-size is about $8 not the $12 they claim and pretty much everything in the box was drugstore so not too impressed. Aside from that it has a pleasant scent and is fairly moisturizing.

 Full size=$8 /Sample=$1.25

Alessandro Pedix Feet

Never tried this before, but looking forward to see  if it  is a “saviour “, as it claims, for rough feet.

Full size=$18.50 /Sample=$5.70

Wella Professional Brilliance
Leave-in Mousse

This sample came in full size which is really nice.  This mousse is for chemically treated or coloured hair, and it smells amazing. I have tried other Wella products before and felt they were ok, but not amazing. This one intrigues me and I can’t wait to see if it holds the style in my hair without all the crunchiness you normally get with mousse.Stay tuned for a review.

Value =$17.99

Total Value of the Box:$33.06

Since I paid around $26 for this box, including taxes, I expected way more. I am hoping that the next box will be much better if not then maybe it is time for a change. Feel free to leave a comment below, and let me know how you liked this months Glossybox? Thats all for now 🙂

Ciao Bellas, Shanelle

  1. I got the same as you apart from your pedi cream where I got instead the Curel hand and cuticule cream. At first I was happy to get the Curel cream which is good by the way but now, after reading reviews all over the web I discovered that a lot of different moisturizing cream have been sent by glossybox, and I might have got the cheapest one of all lol

    • I got the Curel cream in my last Glossybox, and I too was a bit disappointed 🙁 Hopefully next month they will step up on the quality/quantity of products!
